# Authentic Lishi Tools vs. Counterfeits: Spot the Difference

> Identify genuine Lishi tools by logo, verification sticker, and price. Understand why counterfeits produce wrong decodes and break in customer locks.

The counterfeit Lishi market is large, well-organized, and specifically designed to fool buyers who do not know what to look for. Clone tools are manufactured to look identical to genuine products in photos — same shape, similar packaging, and plausible-looking labels. ## The 0.01mm tolerance difference

The entire value proposition of a Lishi tool rests on one number: 0.01mm. At the scale of a lock wafer, the difference between a depth-3 cut and a depth-4 cut can be less than half a millimeter. The genuine Lishi manufacturing process maintains tolerances to within 0.01mm across the lifter arm, pivot, and pointer assembly.

When that tolerance is maintained, every depth reading on the reading pane is accurate.
